Today’s interest… considering playing out again, it’s been a couple of years. Which leads to thinking about my guitar. Which leads to thoughts of practicing. Which leads to thoughts about which songs should I practice. Which leads to songs I’ve written and still need to go record. Here’s the one that comes to mind…

“Waylon Jennings Kind of Man”

She shows him the girl in the mirror

He says she has a wild gypsy heart

She won’t let him see any clearer

The truth is that she’s loved him from the start.

He’s a Waylon Jennings kind of man

Love ‘em and leave ‘em while you can

A good-hearted woman

Just doesn’t stand a chance

At the love of a Waylon kind of man

She…. hummm where’s my lyrics…

Check back in a bit.

Maybe I can go find them.

Let’s see… where would I have put them…

She knows he will always come to get her

He blames it on her wild gypsy soul

She won’t let him get any nearer

The truth is that she’ll never let him go.
