Blue Swan, White Swan, Guitars & Musicians around a campfire

I've had 4 different "Swans" which is what I call my vans. I got the name from my book, "Island." In it she has a white sailboat with a stained glass porthole with swans around the edge. So, I named my vans "Swan."

The first was brand new, a white one with blue interior at Chapelgate. I loved it so much I drove it for about 300,000 miles and over a decade. The second was this blue one, and I took out all the back seats and fixed it up with a bed and blue quilt. Before that, I just had a twin mattress in it for awhile, my guitar, and music stand. The next one I don't know where my pictures are at the moment but it was totally covered in underocean scenes, painted by the owner who painted murals on buildings around Orlando. The one I have now is white, again, like my first one, with the same soft blue interior. I love my vans, Lai loves my vans. It's all she's ever known.

I had intended to use my vans especially at Angel Creek, but that turned into Bigfoot, which I wasn't expecting, so I've never taken Lai there and up to now have never even had a clear enough place to park. It was impossible to penetrate the trees, weeds, and brush at the beginning. I've slowly paid local people here and there to clear it for me. A few months ago I had a place to park cleared, but I haven't been there since then. We rented a stump grinder and he cleared a spot by my blue cabin. I guess I'll go see one of these days.

Before that, several different locals (I found them in local online job pages) cut down trees for me, not the biggest ones, just enough to clear that place to park and the front section. I was trying to get the dry creek cleared as well, which begins at the blue cabin, and I've had them work on that many times. So, at the beginning it was all I could do to weedeat and clear a small place right on the road, it's about 3 feet behind the road easement, just good enough.

My dreams were to visit, by myself, and with my family, especially Lai, since I bought it for her to experience land. Instead, it turned into Lai's and my camping vehicle we mostly used at my friend Andy's ranch when he had his music events, at his gigs and campouts, and for Lai's and my "Adventures in Swan." That's our version of "Texas Tales from a Lone Star." I've used my Swans for all of those as well.

So these are some of the pictures of mostly the blue Swan and the latest white Swan and the interiors I've had. The country is Andy's ranch and the Saloon he and his friends built for music and musician friends. Enjoy! xo
