Today's interest...
Media friend (think big, I mean powerhouse): "I want to go see Angel Creek."
Angel: "Oh. I guess you read my story today. I just updated it, here," and I send it. It's about how by this time next week I will FINALLY have a front yard AND a place to park. "I don't know WHY I didn't think of you. It's perfect for you. (He has a background of a family who did what I did at Chapelgate, restored a property, made it beautiful, turned it into a family heirloom.) "You can either go yourself or wait till I can go with you."
Media friend: "I LOVE what you're doing. I restored a spring once, brought it to life. It took 5 years."
Angel: "Oh, wow. I'm hoping I have a spring in the very back. I think I will. Here look at this and this... You could buy property down the road..." I start sending photos and links and more stuff than I'm sure he wanted.
Media friend: "Then we'd be neighbors."
Angel: "You could stay at my place when you go up there, until you could find your own." He's extremely big, a leader, in Christian media. So I know he knows my language. "I bought it as my survival offgrid place. I picked it because it was CHEAP and had HUGE beautiful trees, was gorgeous land, and in the Arkansas Ozarks, the last Christian holdout. Plus it was completely unrestricted."
Media friend: "You're talking my language. That's EXACTLY what I've been searching for."
Angel: "I don't tell anyone where it is. I write about it. But I don't say where it is, ever." I trust this guy. I absolutely 100% trust this guy. "Here, this Tv series was made there (talking his language, media)." The main guy in the series lived walking distance from my land. He even talks about seeing Bigfoot there - on MY road - 50 years ago when he was hunting. I send him links to the Tv series. "I guess I didn't think of you because I was thinking men with guns, explorers."
Media friend: "I have them."
Angel: "Even more perfect. Ok, look, this is how I did it, this is where you will buy your shed (I send the link). Mine is extra strong, extra insulated, snakeproof. It could easily be a tiny house. I store my tools in it. Here's the lock I designed, it's Godzilla proof. I put brackets on the inside too. I can reverse the bar and lock it from the inside if I want to sleep there, for safety... ...I"m thinking media workshops, stunt workshops, writing retreat, music around a campfire, but all that's way down the road. I'm thinking like I'm sure you think. For now, this is my paid off place to live and be safe, my offgrid unrestricted survival land and cabin. Next week, I'll be able to actually park there. I'll have a yard. Here's the location. Hardly anyone knows it, just my family, mainly. You're going to love it."
Media friend: "Got it. Perfect, that's exactly what I've been looking for. You're a blessing, Angel. You've carved out a way for us..."
Angel: "Let's do it." xo
PS
Angel: “Then I designed this lock. It is a hollow steel bar with an unhackable chain through the middle, with unhackable locks at each end. I can move it to the inside, identical inside brackets and on door, for safety if I decide to sleep in it. If someone came along and put a branch through the brackets outside I can just unscrew them from the inside (I think like that lol). Plus I bought no windows (till I decide to add them) to keep thieves out (again I think like that lol). So I keep my tools in here for now but it is strong enough to be a tiny house.”
Today when I was looking at the title of this story I thought, "I don't think that's the story with the white fence in it." So, I checked. It isn't. The white fence was in my story, "Angel Creek: Finally a yard!!!" I wrote around the same time. HERE SO... here's the white fence part...
Today…
Laileigh: “I want a white fence, Grandmama.”
Angel (A white fence had never once occurred to me. Thinking. Trying to picture it.)
Laileigh: “And I want it BIG.”
Angel: “Baby, if I could and they’d let me I’d build a CASTLE fence. HUGE.”
I will add that a couple of days later I googled "white fence ideas" and got it on my screen. Then I called in Laileigh to pick a white fence. She looked through them carefully after I handed her the mouse (she's like an expert with computers now, age 8). "OH!!! Like THAT!!!" and then "OH!!! NO, like THAT...it's METAL." Then, I thanked her, now knowing exactly what she was thinking. She was thinking Bigfoot. She wanted a BIG fence, a STRONG fence, a METAL fence. "I don't want people to see us. I want it private," she had also said as she scrolled." I wonder who THAT sounds like? as I block the world, for the most part, from even seeing my page. Solitary. Loner. But also, as I write intimate stories straight from my life?
Angel (to Laileigh): "Remember when we went to the Texas Rangers Museum in Waco and I bought your pink Cowgirl hat for you? Remember that was when we went to that big church in Dallas. Mark was there. We sat with Gigi. Those men were talking on a big stage with a big screen, remember?"
Laileigh (smiling): "Yes, I remember."
Angel: "Well, remember the man who signed your book he wrote and made that video about you. You know, that book about "Sharing," that really nice man, my friend, I told you about? HE's the one who pretty much organized that big event we went to at that church with your new pink Cowgirl hat. He created it ALL. He put it all TOGETHER." On that particular day I had chosen to take Lai with me to meet up with Mark DeAlessandro, Lai's friend from birth who taught her about the stunt world, and my actress friend, who was just nominated for an Emmy for her actress work in an Angel Studios feature film (Christian media top top top; Gigi had gone to the ceremony in Los Angeles with her other best friend, besides me, Clint Eastwood's daughter.) I now have a story about that day, that trip. My friend I'm now writing about read that story, looked at my picture, and said, "I'm the guy up front, in the Cowboy hat," and pointed himself out to me. I call that story: "One Million" HERE and it describes how Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman spoke that day. So, see what I mean...
Angel (to Lai): "Well, HE's been reading my stories I write about Angel Creek. HE said he wanted to go see Angel Creek. I suggested he buy property there. He's thinking about becoming our new neighbor."
I start dreaming of big Castle type strong white fences and looking up fence companies... xo
